• The operator trips the breaker or blows the fuse repeatedly. A motor drawing high current under load is failed or close to it. We test with a clamp meter before condemning the motor; sometimes it’s a shorted cable or a failing capacitor instead. If the motor is the cause, the numbers don’t lie.

None of these symptoms resolve themselves. The ones that come and go for a few days are the worst kind, because they make the motor’s failure look like a board problem or a power issue.
