Signs Your Elite Welding & Fabrication Is Failing

• The gate drags on the close arc. The hinge side of the frame has shifted, usually because a weld at the post or a hinge plate has cracked. The operator keeps cycling, which means the crack keeps growing. What started as a 1/8-inch sag is grinding the gate into the pavement every cycle.
• A visible crack at the weld bead, usually at a hinge or bracket. Mild steel fatigues at the stress riser, which is almost always the edge of a weld. Once the crack is visible, the part is on borrowed time and more pressure falls on the remaining bead with every cycle.
• The operator mounts feels loose or the arm bracket wiggles under load. The bracket wasn’t the weak point at installation, but it is now. A moving bracket on an Elite arm means the motor is working harder and the geometry is changing with every cycle. That’s a fast way to a stripped gearbox.
• The gate is out of square, and the latch no longer lines up cleanly. This reads like a latch problem but it’s almost always structural. The frame has racked, either from a failed weld or a hinge that’s wallowed out. Replacing the latch without squaring the frame just relocates the failure.
